Stops container sweat dripping onto your stored kit, electronics, and dry goods. Applied at Phil's workshop in Kent, or on-site for larger projects.
Warm, humid air inside a steel container hits the cold ceiling overnight, condenses into droplets, and rains down on whatever you've stored. Cardboard packaging fails. Electronics corrode. Tools rust. Fabrics turn mouldy. It happens every container, every year — unless you stop it.
Grafo-Therm is a sprayed ceiling coating designed specifically for this. It absorbs airborne moisture during the warmer part of the daily cycle and releases it as the temperature drops, instead of letting it pool and drip. Used as standard across the container industry for moisture-sensitive storage.
| Use case | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Stored equipment & tools | Metal corrosion from sweat is the most common loss claim — the coating eliminates it. |
| Electronics | Boards, transformers and connectors fail fast in a damp container. Worth the coating cost on day one. |
| Dry goods & food packaging | Cardboard and paper packaging absorbs moisture, deforms, and fails. Coating prevents the drip. |
| Gym fit-outs & home gyms | Foam mats, leather grips, and electronics treadmill consoles all suffer in untreated containers. |
| Archives & paper records | Mould and warping start within weeks in an uncoated container. Standard spec for any document store. |
| Container offices & welfare | Cleaner working environment, no drip onto workstations, less mould on ceilings. |
Best ordered with the container. Coating a new container at Phil's workshop before delivery is cheaper and tidier than retrofitting later. Tell Phil what you're storing when you order and he'll factor the coating into the delivered price if it's worth specifying.
Phil arranges the application through his approved spray contractor. Container at his workshop is the cheapest route — for an order being delivered out, the coating slots in before the HIAB run. On-site application is possible for larger projects (multiple containers, or a unit that's already sited and can't easily move).
Price depends on container size and whether it's workshop-based or on-site. Phil quotes the figure when you call — no invented numbers on a website that don't survive contact with the actual job.
